transmission recall question
Certain 2004 Model Year F-250/350/450/550 Super Duty, Econoline, and Excursion vehicles equipped with a 5R110 TorqShift transmission built from March 8, 2004 through June 24, 2004. Affected vehicles are identified in OASIS.
Some 2004 MY Excursion, Super Duty and Econoline vehicles equipped with a 5R110 TorqShift transmission may have low/reverse gear set pinion shaft(s) that may walk out, causing metallic particle contamination. If this condition were to occur, it may lead to harsh/slipping shifts and/or harsh/delayed forward/reverse engagements. If these symptoms are ignored, this could eventually lead to a transmission failure.

Transmission Low/Reverse Snap Ring Replacement
Have it checked.. But, usually the transmissions are 'built as needed' and there isn't a huge stock pile 'or' months of tranny units laying around waiting for an engine mate.. My 05 was a Oct. build and was clear of the recall/s.. Note the latter recall 05B27 is for snow pushers with a PTO provision if it applies..
Hope this helps..............HP................
