My wife told me today that when she got into my 04 FX4 to take it to the dealership for the "bed recall" the front inside of the windshield was covered with condensation. She said it was so bad it affected the visibility. To top it off, after driving 50 miles to the "good dealership" with the "good service dept" she was told she would have to reschedule the appointment after they ordered the parts for the recall.
Anyone know of any possible causes. Since I've been deployed she has taken it in for the 3rd brake light fix, approx 1 mo ago. I have the solid rear glass so I wouldn't think that would be a problem area.
Just what I wanted to hear, I'm coming home in 2 weeks just to spend my leave sitting in the service dept waiting room. I currently have the steering column rattle, recall and now the condensation problem.
Oh well, I am a little pi$$ed off but I'm still looking forward to driving my truck.
I had the same problem with my windshield. The windshield actually looked like it had slipped down on the drivers side almost a quarter inch. I took it to the dealer and they swear that it is not slipping. I disagreed with this and attributed the leak at the top inside of the windshield to the seal at the top of the windshield failing due to this slippage. They fixed the leak by caulking the inside at the top with black polyurethane and so far it hasnt leaked. I still say it is slipping but wont know for sure until I remove the cowling and look.
I just checked the windshield stops by raising the cowl and sure enough my windshield is sinking. I cant believe the mickey mouse stops ford used to support the windshield.
I bet most trucks have this problem and nobody knows about this, (except ford).
If you want to check just pop the inserts on the corner of the cowl, look in there and compare the left to the right. Also check the gap at the top of the windshield.
I am headed back to the dealer and this time I am seeing the service manager.

If the windshield is condensating on the inside I'd be looking at the heater core for a leak. It only takes a few drops an hour running down through hot heater core to sweat up the windows inside a vehicle..
One other possibility: if your wife turns the HVAC air flow control to "OFF" when she parks it, moisture will be trapped inside 'cause the cab can't breathe.
When I was stationed at Myrtle Beach (no, I ain't sayin' how long ago!), I went TDY to Eglin with an A-7D flight for a firepower demonstration; our hotel was right on the beach and luckily I wasn't married at the time. Best TDY ever; sure beat Wheelus, Korat and Cannon!
