What size and type carburetor should I purchase. 78 F-150 with the 351m/400 4x4 with headers...I have heard alot of ideas but, most say to stay around 650cfm..Anything bigger is used for racing and big time 4-wheeling...I do play in the mud alot but, I don't want to go to big...Any input would be appreciated..Thanks...

You need to figure out whether you have a 351 or a 400, check the VIN. A 600 CFM will work on a 400, a 500 CFM will work on a 351M. Neither engine revs real high. Check the Read First: FAQ thread at the top of the 73-9 forum for VIN info.
I need to install a new carburetor...Can anyone suggest a brand and size to use...I have a 78 F-150 351m/400 4x4...I have heard that 750 is overkill...Is 650 the right size to install?????????????
holleys are to hard to keep up unless your a carb expert. edlebrocks are more for the street and more reliable. my opinion, holleys for the track edlebrock for the street
