98 fuel pump
I have a 98 with a 3.0 high miles so I thought I would replace the fuel pump,,,what is different about these pumps that makesthem cost twice as much? Also I have been looking for aftermarket coil packs and haven't been able to find any....

I think the fuel pumps are expensive because of the type of "returnless" fuel delivery system that the '98+ Rangers use.
You have to drop the tank or remove the bed in order to get at the FP, so if ain't broke, you're probably better off leaving it alone.

I have a 98 2.5l and We replaced the fuel pump, but it turns out it wasn't even bad we just had a bad tool for checking fuel pressure. So if you live anywhere near Lancaster PA I got one for you really cheap. Its got 80,000 miles on it but its in good condition.
