Last week I washed my car and found a dent that looks like it came from a stone. So I called my insurance and they looked at it and gave me a check written to me and my bank that I have the loan through. Well I could not cash the check without the banks signature and they would not sign it untill they seen it was fixed. The repair was only 371$ so I paid for it out of my pocket signed the check and had my wife take the check and my car to the bank to cash it. She called me at work today and said they would not cash it without me being there so I left work early today to get there before they closed. When I got there the bank officer came out with a paper in her hand and asked why I had two late payments. I told her that I didnt know it was late because my wife handles all of the bills she said its not late now they were last summer. I said so my loan is current now she said yes but is this going to be a trend I told her no but we got a little behind last summer because I wasnt working much. she told me that she wouldnt sign the check if this was going to be a trend, well now I got mad I told her that I pay that insurance premium not her or her bank that money is mine I already paid for it out of my pocket. She still refused to sign the check and that is when I started yelling finally she signed it and walked away. Has this ever happened to anyone else? sorry for the long post but I had to vent.
Sounds weird. Last time I had a claim check it was made out to the repair shop AND me, so I just signed it and have it to the shop when the truck was ready.
What the lady at the bank was saying, had nothing to do with your claim check. Why would it matter to her about your loan? Sounds like a screwed up bank to me..
Find out who her superior is and report her actions and ask them why she would refuse to sign a check. Then find another bank...
Best idea given.
Luckily the bank I do most (95% ) of my business with is still locally owned, all decisions are made on the premises.
Another bank I do business with (also locally owned) I know one of the owners real well, another one real well but not as well as the other and one of the other owners I have met but I don't know him at all. When they expand more and I expand (financially) more I will be at this bank as well.

Same as triton stated when my truck got backed into the insurance company issued a check to me and all I had to do was give it to the shop and if there was anything left over they should give it back to you.
