OD Light Problem
REcently purchased '00 F250, V10 ... don't know much on the specs of the vehicle .. New Owner ... OD light is inoperable. Transmission does shift to OD, but cannot use switch to turn OD off. Bought new switch today, installed, same outcome. I read thru all FAQ's here I could find. Any suggestions?

You need a code reading. This indicates a problem with one of the sensors that provides input to the tranny. I had the same thing happen on my truck. But when I turned it off and restarted it, the problem cleared. The next day it happened again. A friend has a code reader and it tells me I have a pending code on the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor which is used by the brainbox to help determine shift timing. I have since cleaned the MAF and the problem has not recurred. If the problem is happening all the time, try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. It will clear the codes and give you a fresh start. If it happens again, ya got no choice but to read the codes.

OK ... checked fuses ... and reset codes via disconnect of battery.
Still same result ... used 2 different switches ,..,.original and new from Ford today 02.23.05 I guess a wire could be the problem ...
Any other suggestions are welcomed.
