Yes indeed. The XBOX is a P3 733, with 64 or 128 megs of ram (can't remember) an NVIDIA GFORCE graphics card with an insame amount of ram on it. And a 6 or 8 gig hdd... It has 4 USB ports for controller ports, and built in ethernet. SO it's a great network server. My little bro (owns one, I have yet to "waste" my money on one as the car is a giant POS) thinks the cords are failing due to HALO 2... I will quote his theory: "Halo 2 is overloading the power supply, thus creating a need for more current from the wall. The wimpy 16 gauge lamp cord is not heavy enough to supply the necessary current, resulting in melted insualtion and short curcuits."
He blames it on HALO 2, because the problem didn't surface until it came out..
And who didn't recreate their controllers for rapid fire? I did... It was an easy fix... The nice thing about the Sega Genesis controller was it also worked well on a commodore 64.....
LOL, i'm same way wolf, I just haven't been able to get myself to buy a console, I still have my Turbo Grafx 16 + CD and turbo express. went that way instead of SuperNes. ANd I got dreamcast free from my cousin..lots of cheap games racing games. I'd rather spend my 150 bucks and 50 bucks a game on Truck parts and tools now. and play Unreal Tourney on my PC.
You can download the original Mario Brothers games (with the engine to play them) over the net.
IF you have a capable PC

You say that as if the computer is sooo great to allow you to play a game... that you could've played 16 years ago on a console.
I've been playing Halo for over 2 years now. I bought an xbox and halo, and that's it - no other games, and that's all I've played, for 2 years. I play it basically every day. The xbox and halo is basically the best investment I've ever made: I've gotten countless, countless hours of fun for about $200 - with friends, kids over the internet, by myself... and when you play somethign that much, and get so good at it that you know EVERYthing about it... and it's still fun... I think that says a lot about how good it and the system are.
They release a new generation of consoles about every 3-4 years.
Nintendo... Super NES... N64... Gamecube - that's only 4 upgrades, less than $200 each, over a 17 or so year span. Seems pretty cheap compared to what computers you've probably owned/upgraded over that time.
Playstation was out for like 4 years before PS2.
Xbox has been out over 3 years now, and it'll be another year or so before xbox 2, in which case I'll still be playing halo on xbox 1.
I like computers for everything except games, probably because I've just always played on consoles.
BTW... halo 2's for noobs.
