Well Kevin beat me to it but after having to rebuild a carb and clean my intake due to mud and water I decided it would be in my best interest to use a hood scoop that kept that junk out of my intake. I suppose I abuse my truck a bit more than most. But if you all like sticking funnels on the front of your trucks so you can suck junk in there . . . by all means.
When I get my hood back from paint I'll get some pics of it. I use a raised air cleaner that sits through the hood inside the scoop. It works out awesome.
try out www.up22.com see if they got what you need.
I highly recommend against using there 73-79 ford cowl induction hood. I've got well over a grand in my hood after repairing everything on the hood. Called them, they pretty much told me "tough(you know what)" in not so many words. It might not have been so bad but I had to play phone tag and completely go through about 4 people, then was redirected to the first lady again and she said they could not help me.

Carhoods is supplied by Usbody.com and they have the gt500 for 73-79's as well as the 67-72's but the catch is you have to buy their whole tilt front clip and hack up your truck to accomidate that to have the hood because they dont have a mold just for the hood by itself,I called and was very dissappointed they didn't even ask if they could custom build something. They said there was no demand for OLD FORD truck hoods....haha ok guess she hasn't seen this site. You can see thier site that is linked to the carhood one by looking under (custom and race parts).
check out my gallery my cowl scoop is a 4" harwood from summit that was glassed and rivites on the style lines are nealy dead even from the scoop to the hood
