I know the Harwood one fit great on the hood of my '73. Follows the hoods factory lines great. Can't say for sure on your 78 due to the cosmetic changes but at least this gives you a point of refrence. I don't see why it wouldn't fit.

67-72 hoods are the same, 73-79 hoods are the same. The 71 hood may bolt up to your 78, but it won't fit properly. You would be better off finding the correct hood.

Really? I thought there were cosmetic changes in '78 but wasn't positive. If thats the case, the Harwood will work great on your 78. I got mine at summit.

I cut in one of the cowl scoops found a big piece of cardboard reached inside with a small pencil and marked the opening use the cardboard to cut the hole. The scoop will slide in from the under side makes a real nice cowl hood find one with out the raised up rib the rib ones look like they should be on the other brand of truck.

p.s. you want have a lot of $$$ in it

Try Unlimited products---- They have cowl induction hoods up to a 9-inch cowl.
Hope this helps.
