My F100, (1980 I-6) seems to be the only one on the road around these parts (Boston)...can anybody tell me a bit more about when the models changed and what happened to the F100's?????
My truck seems to be at the cross-over year of a new model, and the only trucks like mine on the road seem to be F150's
if anybody knows about model changes and when they took place I would be very interested to hear.
I have seen only one, in Reno. It is the same style as my 86. I read somewhere that the 150 was a heavy duty 100. I know they dropped the 100 at some point.

The F100 was sold alongside the F150 up from the 150's introduction 73 or so(I'd have to look it up to be sure) until it was dropped in 1983, the only differences between the 100 and 150 are the springs. Some of the F100's have the small 5x4.5" car bolt pattern, I haven't seen one that had it yet though. Interestingly enough my F100 came from Mass.....

I'v got an 1981 F-100 with I-6 300, 4 speed od and 4.11 rear. It has the small bolt pattern, also the front and back springs are lighter. I put a set of leveling springs on the front and come up 4". Had to remove the overloads from the rear and add 2" blocks to come up even.
Glenspen, are you right in Boston? I'm from Reading...know of any good offroading areas around here? I do alot in North Andover, North Reading, Reading, but I want more! The F-100 ended in 83 I believe. And I'm pretty sure it's posted right, the F-150 in 73 started up (something like that). However, there was also the Ranger series. My cousin's husband who I work for landscaping has a 1980 F-350 Ranger with the 400, and that thing is a beast! My other cousin did own an F-100 for about a year but sold it in North Reading. I'm not sure the year, but positive it was a 100.
