Lighning versus Excursion

Well,
the family grudge match didn't happen....
the nephew listened to one of his Navy buddies who told him a "better way" to get from Corpus to DFW.... so he was like 3 hours later getting here than he was supposed to and we missed the drags Friday night...

but we did go ride in each others trucks as a comparison before the rains hit Saturday and closed the track for the weekend ...

While that super charger on his sounds UNREAL when it starts screaming,
we both felt that the 4x4 launch in the EX would leave him sitting way back... even WITH his huge Nitto tires... and he'd have a hard time catching up...
at least in the 1/8th I'd probably get him, but in the 1/4 that may be another story...

(he says he HAS been 140 in his truck and it felt solid and like it had a lot more)

We rode by the track and the motocross course and the Dirt track and he can't wait to come back to try again !

Well the best part is you got some of that all important catch up time.

Hope to my nephew (in S.F.) in a couple of months.

Yeah....
it WAS good discussion time...
even though I DO have fun with the truck talk...
I used it as an in-road for mre in depth conversatin about what he's going to do after the Navy... IF he decides to get out...

my Bro-in-law and sis came in the next day and both said how much he told thme he enjoyed our discussions....
even though I tend to get too "serious" about the discussions with the young men in my family, they know it's just from experience and trying to help...

So you think you have even a chanch against a Lighting? Hypermax's very modded EX doesn't stand a chanch agains't even a stock lighting. I don't get it, like a joke or something?

Wow, you are a real <!-- ********* --> Foul language removed by admin. Follow the guidelines if you wish to remain here.! The only thing your sig. says is cat back exhaust. So I had no idea that you were modded, thinking you were thinking of running a lighting. I will take my sorry <!-- a$$ --> Foul language removed by admin. Follow the guidelines if you wish to remain here.back to the 5.4 section and never bother you again. Who is Hypermax? Are you serious? And you sounded like you know diesels. A lighting will still take you EX, sorry to tell you, yah you will hook better but as soon as he hooks up he will pull and it will be easy for him to take you, even in the 1\8th.

Don't worry about who Hypermax is, ask one of your 6.0 groupie buddys to tell you, I am out of here, don't need your crap!

http://www.hypermaxdiesel.com/ check out there EX, I know it's a 7.3, but it's fast, not fast enough for what you want to do though...

yea found this on the net

yup 7.3

check out this 6.0 f250 with just intake exhaust and sct chip, i should be up there with those numbers, i know my water/meth injection should compensate for the extra weight of my excursion.click here

i proved my point

Looks like you might be closer then I thought, should be a good race, his tires should give him some good bite. That EX is to damn heavy, thing needs a diet! The real question is why is he still stock, lol That truck needs a pully and all the good stuff, it's only fair....

The water should keep it cool for the run, I am guessing you have zero egt's problems using it?
