Yes they are different. I know for sure it's around a 30 horse difference, the lightning uses a different intake manifold, and possibly different heads as well. Blurry94 could tell you all the differences.

Only very few of the '95 lightnings were mass air - the majority were speed density. You can run a lightning motor on a regular 5.8 computer and wiring, but without the high performance tune it won't be quite the same.
