I have a 1994 F-150 flareside with a 351. My a/c used to be cold as ice and all of a sudden a few weeks ago it stopped getting cold (i live in florida). i was wondering if buying and adding refridgerant 134a would work or not for my problem or if it is somthing more.
It sounds like its just low..... But check the system hoses.... For cracks, bubbles, deterioration.... Your AC runs on R-134a? I thought they changed that in 95? Maybe someone can give us some more help...
I had the same problem on my '94 F-150 a few weeks ago and finally found the pressure switch (located on the accumulator) broken. This switch cycles the compressor.
LoL Dieter
My sight glass in on the driver's side of the engine compartment near the radiator. It has a plastic cap over it and looks like it might be a fill port to the uninitiated. If you cannot locate it I'll put a picture of it in my gallery later and advise you.
Can somebody please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had problem after problem with my AC. I have a '92 Explorer and so far I have replaced the hose assembly (was leaking), the compressor was a piece of crap, vaccuumed it down and refilled with 134. It ran cold the first coupl of days, then just kinda cool and now not really. I was told to replace the orifice tube, vaccuum down again and refill. What do you think?
