I have a Motorola with TracFone, and I'm not too happy with it, it's just not holding up very well. I want to get a Nokia, but with TracFone you're limited to the specially encoded phones that they offer, and not all of them will work in all areas. I have a choice between the 5100 and the 2285, those are the only ones that will work around here. My main problem with the Motorola is that I can't hear it ring if I'm doing anything that makes a little noise, such as running the forklift. It also gets scratched real easily, I've already replaced the front cover because it was so scratched up I couldn't see the screen very well. A few months back I found the remains of a Nokia scattered along the road in front of my work, I gathered them all up and put them back together and turned it on, it only had some roadrash on the case but it worked fine. I was able to call the number listed in the directory as 'home' and talked to the owner and got it back to her. All my family has Nokias and have had good luck with them. -TD
I have a Motorola v.60 flip phone. One day while heading back away from a job site, I had it sitting on the dashboard of our work truck and it fell off, through an opening in the floor on to the pavement moving at 50 mph. We stopped the truck and I went to get it expecting to be picking it up in pieces. Other than a few scratches, there was absoloutely no damage at all!
I have a Samsung N400 and it has been through a lot of abuse, and still has no problems (1 1/2 years old). An I personally like Sprint PCS, in my area you cant beat them and practicly every body with a cell phone has them so you rarely use all of you mins. because of free Sprin to Sprint calling, And for those of you that like the walkie talkie feature from Nextel, Sprint has a very similar service called Ready Link. I have also heard rumors of Sprint and Nextel Merging.
no telling how many times i dropped it and slammed it around. heck, it even got run over by a fully loaded 1 ton ford 15 passenger van and still worked.
i will put a vote in for LG i had one that i abused pretty good and never gave me any problems. i always have it cliped to my belt so it gets slamed in doors, i slid a cross a parking lot on it (rough night), dropped it in the mud off roading etc...
JerNla, i do believe that sprint and nextel are merging. i keep getting stuff about it in the mail. i think they have already inked paper and the merging in transition.
