This has just happened in the last day. I drive the truck around town and unless I keep the rpm over 2600 it wants to kick and cough and it feels like it is coming up through the carb. I can actually feel it on the gas pedal. Is it bad gas or is the carb needing an adjustment? The weather is only 5 to 10 degrees below freezing. So it is very warm. 3-4 pumps in the morning and it fires up like a new vehicle with efi. To just putt around town though after it is warm I have to keep playing with the pedal to stop the coughing and sputtering. Maybe my timing is off some how?
I drive it to work every cay but can't have this happening all the way there and back. It almost sounds like it is missing when I try to give it more gas when it does this. Any suggestions on what I can check?
Maybe in need of a new fuel filter or some junk made it's way to the carb. Check the timing and all electrical connections. Also check your vacuum hoses. Then check the movement and squirt in the carb (without it running) to see if it looks suspect.
I had the timing checked and it was at 0. The mechanic set it to 10 degrees to try but it never made a difference. Checked all vacuum lines and seem ok. Could it be points? I ran methyl hydrate also. Temperature the last few days this has happened is around 0C(32F) plus or minus a couple degrees.
