cam gear
ok if i am changing the distributor on a (fuel injected converted to carb), the motor is out of a car 1986, i am going to use a 1980 distributor, it should work just fine, correct? what is the bit on the cam gear to a bronze, is this the internal gear or the external gear? thanks!

I here about this all the time, but my engine builder said a Ford roller cam will work with a stock older style dist. I ran an 80 dist in an 86 roller motor for 8 years with no problem.
