How do you remove the headlight switch?

I just replaced the switch on the 00 Excursion.
I took a small pry bar (about 6inches long) and pryed around it until it popped loose. Theres three spots were it's clamps into place. Then it was a simple procedure of unplugging the two plugs and plugging in the new switch.
The one I replaced the broken switch was not the same as the one that broke. The one that broke you were able to pull off the head light **** like you can do on my 99 F250. The new one you cannot pull off the head light ****.
I got the switch brand new shipped on Ebay for $21.00 but others were sold for $10.00.
