insufficient egr flow
To test, apply a vacuum source to the EGR valve with engine idling. Engine should stumble and idle rough. This verifies that the EGR valve itself is OK.
Next with the engine fully warmed up, connect a vacuum gauge to the line going to the EGR valve, with the engine running open the throttle. You should see vacuum come up as you open the throttle. This verifies that the control solenoid and PCM are telling the valve to open.
If it passes both these tests there is a 99 percent chance the DPFE is bad.
Look for a rectangular (about 2"x3")silver metal or black plastic module with 2 hoses and a 3 wire connector hooked to it. The part number will be xxxx-9J460-xx. The x's vary but the middle mumber is always 9J460.
Part is about $90 at the dealer or $50 at autozone.

put it in park, it idles with varying rpm and misses until it starts idling again. It runs rough and accelerates labourously, as if it were under heavy load or in really cold weather. It also takes much longer to warm up, and never reaches operating temperature, and the oil filler cap and breather get a bit of condensation (white film).
suspected it might be a blown gasket but that would cause overheating, and coolant loss, this hasn't happened. I took it to the shop and the mechanics said it was fine.
fine for a scrapyard mabey. im at the end of my ropes with the thing, and its driving me nuts, ill never be able to sell it like the way it runs now. And if it runs like its doin, im afraid (whatever it is) permantly damage the motor.Does anybody out there know what might be the problem?

A thread of your own (in the proper forum if needed - pick by the age of your truck)would have been a good idea.
That said, I would look for an open vacuum line at or near the PCV valve. Perhaps the PCV hose itself.
