look at a "black magic" fan its a single and comes with an adjustable thermostat and thay really work great

Try to avoid the thermostats that go in between the fins on the radiator. You want one that goes into your intake. Painless makes a complete kit with thse t-stats for about $60. Whatever fan you go with just make sure you have a good shroud or build one. A push fan isn't a bad idea but without the shroud even a pusher won't do you much good.
