VIBRATIONS in the bed? huuuum.... Let's look at the basic bed of the 2004 f150 for4 a moment. My 6 1/2 foot box is supported to the frame by 4 small dia.bolts in the respective corners. Between the bolts, located on the frame under the bed are several, small round rubber disk. I can spin these thin rubber disk around with my fingers. All of these rubber disk have no practial purpose except to prevent the frame from rubbing a hole in the box from all the vibration that takes place from attaching the box with only 4 bolts. Anyone try drilling a couple more holes near the center of the box to help reduce the FLEXING problem?

well i can say this i have a 2004 f-150 and went with the spray in liner and i get no vibration what so ever however there is a recall out on the 04-05 f-150s there is a butly pad that may have been installed behind the outer panel of the bed by the passenger side rear tail light you may want to take a look at that if it is there its going to have to be removed because if it is left it moister gets in there and will evently corroad the bed not sure if that will solve your problem but its worth taking a look at

They say the part to fix my F150crew steering vibration and nibble is unavailable and on backorder. The truck also makes smooth roads seem bumpy and I can see the side of the truck vibrate in the side mirror. Lots of time and work on the truck(7 visits) and it is all the same. I had the salesman go tell them(?) that I wanted a truck that didn't shake and nibble. . . .they told him no. . . . teecee3

Why can't Ford just retrofit the vibration damper from the '05 onto the '04? Maybe this makes too much sense. They may actually have to unbolt the bed and remove it for this procedure. What i don't get is that it would seem stupid to keep replacing diffs or wheels/tires just to quell a seemingly mundane problem, if indeed the lack of a vibration damper in the bed is the cause of a customers particular complaint. Or maybe they prefer to keep on blowing people off as just plain old fussy consumers. I love Ford's products as a whole, but I have NEVER liked their service departments.

I should think this would be a bolt on affair. It unbolted from the frame of my 2005 model so I could install a receiver hitch. Nothing remarkable really. Ought to be a simple fix if that is what is needed. I have zero vibration. Quiet as a church mouse.

The vibration dampener will fit an 04' the same as it fits an 05'. However the "Bed Shake" is completely different from the "Vibration" issues. The dampener has been tried on numerous trucks with the "Vibration" problems and has fixed zero of them. The dampener has been around for years. It was originally designed for excessive rear end bounce.

Going to the dealer's body shop on Monday. Whatever the issue is, it would definitely make me think twice about buying another Ford.

At least it might be a good weight to aid in winter snow traction.
