You can always add an amp to a stock cd player. The speaker level outputs from your factory head unit will need to be connected to the speaker level inputs on the amp you select IF the amp has them. If the amp does not have speaker level inputs, you will need to get a line level converter. This will take your speaker level inputs, and convert them to a line level RCA type connection suitable for almost every amplifier.
