what is the part I need?
I asked a while ago and got no help but the drivers side door on my 98 expy will not open from the inside. The bar that goes from the door handle to the ( I don't know what the name of it is but it's what the 'bar' attached to to actually open the door) is bent and I need the other part I just mentioned. Anyone know the names of these parts so I can do a search to find them so I can replace them and maybe be able to get out of the drivers side door one of these days?

you may be referring to the door latch? the inside door handle will have a rod that connects the handle to the latch if the rod is bent it wont work right and wont open the door. i would first try to straighten the rod and see if that fixes the problem if not a replacement latch may be necessary

Id id try straitening out the rod but that didn't help. When you pull the door handle the latch seems to bend as well. Any idea where I might be able to find these parts? and is it hard to replace them?

Before you replace the latch assembly disconnect rod from handle and either push or pull the rod to see if door opens.If it does'nt open try Wd40 on latch assembly, I fixed an expoler handle this way
