There are two small metal clips which you need to remove that holds the top part of the headlight in (one at the inner side and one at the outer side ) these are next to the headlight adjustment screws. be careful when prying these up as it can easily break needing a pair of needle nosed pliers to remove the remaining part, DONT discard this as you will need it for the new ones, remove and replace with new units and refit clips, adjust beams and your there! the clips look like a squared off n shape over a plastic threaded bar.
Hope this helps

those lil small "wanna be" metal clips are a pain. Even with needle nose plyers I manage to break one and bend the other. I been meaning to go to the dealership to order a few replacements. The other day, as I was reading a auto body catalog i remember looking at a pic of a tool for the SD and X head lamp clip removal too. It could had been very usefull it was around $9.00.. now I bought a pair of the 05 headlamps, and now thats a whole different issue.

Push a 13mm 12 point socket over the black plastic **** on the bottom of the headlight fixture. I use a magnet on the socket to keep from droping it. After you get the clips off and the socket on, you have to pull hard to get the headlight out.
