My girlfriend tells me that riding in my 2004 FX4 Scab makes her feel car sick (or "truck sick," as it were). I guess that's too bad. Now we won't be able to make those trips to the mall together! Anyway, no one else who's ridden shotgun has complained. I'm wondering though, if feeling sick may be more common with the ride of a truck than with standard passanger cars, or am I just lucky?
I tried out a new FX4 for the weekend a while back. My wife said it made her sick riding in it. We were traveling at a comfortable pace on a road with some hills and quite a few curves. We had traveled it in the past in my old truck with no problems.
She said her but was sliding back and forth on the seat because of no side bolster support and slick leather. That, combined with constant up and down, back and forth jostling made her sick to her stomach. I didn't really notice it as I was was checking out other things.
At the end of the trip she said to "take this rough riding thing back, your old '87 sits and rides twice as good as this overpriced truck", and that she would not trade even if she had to ride in it.
That was her perspective, not altogether mine. But if momma ain't happy, nobody's happy. I still have the '87.
You know, after paying attention, it does ride and take curves better.

just curious have you used any scents or shampoos or leather preservers in your truck that she might be having a reaction to?
My dog gets sick (pukes) every time she goes for a ride in my 04 FX4......
Carguy, cut back on your dogs feed a little bit and take her or short trips on a regular basis and gradually increase the trips each week. I haul brittany's around all the time (I hunt them daily from mid October to mid March) and I had two sister dogs that will be two this year that till this year got sick everytime I put them in their dog box. I started taking their feed away the night before the hunt and only feeding them right after we got back home and they started not getting sick anymore.
Sorry masterp can't help you with your girl none, maybe cut her feed and tel her to ride in the back. Pet Porter makes some very large dog kennels for pickup trucks that you may be able to fit a person in.
My wife and daughter fall asleep in my '05 Lariat SCrew. The ride is superb and the rack and pinion steering is fairly sensitive. If you drove a vehicle with sloppy steering before the F150, you have to be really careful not to jerk or move the steering wheel too much. Doing this on a long road trip will tend to make one puke :^(.
My wife or girlfriend has not experienced any sickness riding in my 04 Fx4 SCrew! OK well I don't really have the girlfriend part but anyone that has riden in the front passenger seat has LOVED the ride!
My family (me, wife, 2 daughters) took an 800 mile trip from VA to TN, and the girls said they loved the ride in the back of our '04 SCAB. They said they enjoyed it more than our minivan.
On a different note, I love the way this truck hugs the road on corners and curves, even at high speeds.
