Dude you will ruin a classic truck, save the rice mods for mini truck or something. But it has been done, everything would basically be custom made-read $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Oh also you might keep it for parts running and reliable transportation when the lowered ricer vehichle is broke

don't rice up that truck.
you don't see many original pickups in that good shape because they were used for work.

If you mess it up the value will go from like 10grand to 2 especially with ricer mods to it. Since most guys that buy old trucks are into the Hot rod stuff

hey you put a 454 in that truck i'll have to come up there and kick your butt. Now if you drop a 460 in it thats cool. They have swap mounts for that motor. With a swap you gotta change out your trans. Since your wanting a 5sp trans i'd go with a ZF 5 Speed. Just to fore warn you with a trans in a pickup, you won't be shifting very fast or speed shifting cause they are meant to be used for hauling and heavy use. If you want "GO" stay with an auto (C6 Auto). You'll need a new exhaust system ($400-$800 depending how nice you want it and if you want Polished Stainless or not). New driveline. There's a couple of guys with 460's pushin anywhere from 300hp-600hp And theres some more things but for just swapin in a decently built 460 your lookin about 7-10k to do everything right thats allowing about $5500 for the motor, $1500 for a built up C6, $700 for exhaust with hedders, $500 for springs to hold the 460, $500 for Swap kit, another $200 for band-aids, beer, tools, medical bills ( j/k) etc. thats you doing the drivetrain swap not having it hired out to do. that all adds up to $8900. You may have extra money to play with but plan on dumping another $600 for airbags, $350 for a tonnau cover, $1500 for a nice rim & tire job job, and whatever else you wanna do. So to customize it with a sweet drivetrain your looking about $9,500-12,000. Hope this answers some of your questions.

I've searched the internet far and wide for someone who has done what your talking about. I think you should do it, you would have a one of a kind truck. Everybody else there who is building sport trucks are using chevys or any of the new body trucks. You never see this year of ford decked out. I'm sending mine to the paint booth sunday, it's a 4 wheel drive but im going to do as much custom work as I can. The paint is going to be "Datona orange sunburst metalic" the same color on the 2005 corvettes. The interiors going to decked out in black leather. ill post some pics of the body in about 2 or 3 weeks, it will be about 3 months before i can post any of the interior.

glad to see sumone showin support lol and thanks for the price range on the engine as for the guy who says sell it i would love to but as i said grandfathers truck couldnt do that until he passes on or i think he would strangle me he put way to much work into that truck and its his pride and joy so i think i will just but air ride and a nice sound system in it for now and hopefully get the interrior redone (no offense to anyone) but the stock interrior in this truck is ugly.

EDIT:
im either gonna do that. or use the truck as a winter beater becuz i really wanna stick with my imports the guy just came to pick up my mitsubishi eclipse GS turbo which was runnin low 11's at the track.... miss it already

Well depending on what's under the hood, you may only knock on 13's with your truck... And the suspension set up will limit your needs for airbags too, I believe they are a lowered/sitting still or raised when driving proposition.

What motor and trans you have? We can come up with several ideas to use your cash on

Dont rice the truck out. Go out and buy you some honda or something . If your not going to use it as a truck, then why bother. Your grandpa probably spend alot of effort keeping that truck immaculate as you say, and he would probably kill you if you riced it out.

IMO,

Changing the character of that truck, is a blight against your Grandfather's memory.

But that's me

You were lucky to know a Grandfather !

If you want to slam something ,find an old Ramcharger or Dodge P/U & slam that.
