For the life of me, I cannot find any lube points on the front end of my '04 XLT Supercab. Can anyone tell me where they are, or confirm that the system is "closed"? Thank you very much!
Thanks guys, just wanted to confirm I wasn't missing some "new fangled lube joint" or some such.
And, as a courtesy to all Ford '04-'05 owners out there, I won't go on a tirade about the placement of the oil filter on the new body styles. Christ, what were they thinking. I miss my old 1998 150, and even, I daresay, my 2000. And I thought the 2000 was a pain in the ****!

I actually fine the 04 easier to get to than my 01. Just get one of the filter wrenches that looks like a cup and fits over the end. 10" extension and a ratchet. makes life easy.
On my 01 I had to remove the skid plate to get to it.
Ahh, never had a 4x4, so never had problems with skid plate. I prefer the '98 4/2 configuration where my Oil filter was mounted verticly next the the oilpan. It was so easy and fast to change the oil on that truck. Shoulda never parted ways with the 'ole girl.
I'm with KingFish, if you use the cup type filter wrench, it's quite easy. Just remember to wipe down the integrated drip pan/funnel after you get the new filter on so you don't get drips on your driveway.
