Disc Brakes For My 65 Econoline Pk-up

Hello ----last Week I Bought This Little 65 Econoline Pk Up , Because It Looked Like It Had My Name Written All Over It....( You Know What I Mean,,,) Cute , Lots Of New Red Paint. Any How That Another Story... What I Want Is Better Brakes On The Front.... Were Talking Disc Here... With A Straight Axle...im Not Sure If Its Ben Done Before But Im Sure Some One Out There Has Tried It ..if So I Have This Itch To Put Em On....i Have A 69 Ford Van That Sports Disc Brakes And What A Huge Differance.i Mean Big Time. I Think This Little Puppy (cucciolo) Has A 170 Engine ..did They Offer A Bigger Engine? 200? Or 240?? Let Me Know , Im Taking Delivery Of This In A Couple Of Weeks.. Its Getten Base Coat , And Clear Coat Paint And Lots Of Block Sanding At The Moment.. Leonard

The 65 Econo's had up a 300 6cyl in then as options. They did not have v8's. Any that have V8's were someones personal installtion.
The 240 and 300's are very tight fits and close to the rads.
Pre 65's came with 140's and 170's the 300's would have to be shoehorned in and the doghouse and floors would need alterateing. The mounts also have to be changed.
Your 65 you could put a 300 in it. No change to dog house, may have to do some motor mount changes.
as for disc brakes they can be done. I do not know which vehicle swaps in. Others here should be able to help with that. I read mid 70's Mustangs.
Good luck with your truck. I have 3 and one is to restore, other to custom and 3rd for parts.
