I have an 85 ford 150 & the heater core is going. I was hoping someone can tell me what kind of job it is in installing a new one.
Any info. would be a great help. Thanks

I replaced mine in my 1980, and it was very simple. You do it from inside under the dash. But mine has ac. The ones with no ac are probably different.

I have come to the conclusion that I have entirely TOO many automotive manuals laying around to be considered a normal human being...

But my "F" series manual is out in the shop right now, it must be.

I seem to remember reading that compared to an A/C model, yours is a piece of cake!

-You don't have to rip the dash out
-In fact, if I remember right the unit can be got at from the engine compartment.

Damn I wish that book was indoors! (It's late, and I'm not going back outside)

they are easy.....with A/C its under the glove box.....while you are under there you can take out that stupid buzzer..
without a/C i believe its from under the hood..i havent done one without A/c but i've seen a big box under the hood that looked like it had a heater core in it to me.....

This was about the easiest thing I had done to my truck. It took me about 30 mins to do. My truck has AC, but it ain't hooked up right now. I removed the glove box, didn't need to, but it made the job easier.
