I'm not trying to start a war but why is the V10 forum clear down hear in Performance, Engines and Troubleshooting rather than in the Super Duty/Heavy Duty section with the diesels? After all the ONLY vehicles you can get the V10 in are the same ones you get the diesels in.
It's by design. They figure the average troll will go into the SD forum or 6.0 forum and will never even see the V10 forum way down here I am not calling diesel owners trolls, but you know the type I am talking about. They figure V10 owners don't go into a diesel forum to talk crap, so it is fine for us to scroll by that forum without problems. It's all by design I tell you !
V10s a "Red Headed Stepchild"....Naw
Just some folks here who's inner child is a mean little booger!
The more interesting question is why are the 7.3 and 6.0 PSDs not worthy of a seperate listing in the performance, engine, and troubleshooting section?
OH ....I get it
WE V10 owners needed a place for the oil sniffers to come harass and harang and leave the other big block/small block owners alone.
Cruise the other motor forums and try to find a gas vs diesel argument....nope you have to come to the V10 forum for those!
I was a diesel guy for 11 years and I understand how the mind stops working.
We have to give these guys a break They are under so much pressure to justify a 5000 dollar option . High maintenance costs, poor mileage , and losing that incredible Pilot injection idle that only made their motors 4 times louder than our V10s. They are more to be pitied than scorned. I am so glad I found the V10 forum and was able to get my brain working again. The last 11 years are now a noisy, smelly memory but every now and then I sit like a zombie waiting for a dash light to go out so I can start my motor. Then it hits me! I am free, free of the cursed diesel fever. Amen, Wrench.
wrench you forgot how much gas we can buy with that $4400 cash us dollars we saved then show them some gray not black exhaust as we pass them from a stop.
Now thats a good one wrench,, ,,I also had the Diesel way of thinking for 8 yrs, 95' PSD, and a 99' PSD, now have an 04' V-10, this is the best truck yet, plain and simple! It's nice to just go fire it up,,,no waiting,,,quiet, gets almost the same mileage as my diesels got, oh yeah and it pulls the same trailer, same equipment , up the same hills faster then then my PSD's did,,,what more can one ask for,, .
What I found out,,when you got your foot in that PSD,,It likes the fuel,,snow plowing, my V-10 use the same amount my PSD did,,so I see no big savings there.
