Wink F150 vs Explorer

Hey, I am looking into either a f150 or an explorer. the trucks are about the same price, but the explorer has much more room than a regular cab. Is the milage better in the explorer? What do yall get in the 04-05 exporers? I need help in deciding this, and this is one of the sticking points.

Explorer resale value is crap compared to an F-150. As for the milage it depends on 4x4 or 4x2, V8 or V6. The highest V6 SOHC milage I've heard of was average 30 MPG. But that can be as bad as 14 MPG. Depens on how you drive.

Fuel economy will be poor for both. Our V6 Ex gets 17-18 local and 21-22 or so highway. I have always been a pickup fan but the explorer is much nicer to drive, the ride is smooth, turns on a dime, and plenty of room inside. The negatives are of course you have no bed for carrying big and/or dirty loads and it cant tow as much. It is true that resale will be worse also.

Our situation is nice, new explorer, old pickup that still works fine.
