Hi, trying to replace ball joints on rt front. Everything went well till trying to remove the spindle.
After removing the 5 bolts, shouldn't it just come loose?
I've banged and banged, no use.
Is there a special tool or something I'm missing?
Thanks Ron

Yes there is a special tool for removing. I purchased one at my local parts supplier (Murreys) it is a threaded scocket style tool that threads onto the end of the spindle and then you use a slide hammer to pull it off. It will take a lot of pounding to get off.
While using the slide hammer i have also applied heat with a torch to the upper side of the hub on the rear side. Keep the torch away from the ball joint and also away from the rear dust seal. I will assume that you are replacing the rear dust seal, but there is a small plastic seal hidden inside the seal.
Update...job complete. The spindle puller socket worked great. Didn't need heat.
The auto parts store allow a 3 day loner kit on the slide hammer and ball joint puller kit.
thanks again...Ron
