Hey thanks racerguy this help a lots. I could not find it in chiltons manual. My mechanic seems to think that is what is causing a cold start problem for me. So i will change that and hope that fix will take care of it.
There are 2 sensors on the front of the intake. The one in the picture is just for the gauge. The one at the other side of the front of the intake is the ECT sensor for the engine controls. I'll assume that's the one your mechanic was talking about.
How did he come to the conclusion that was the problem? That's not very common.
Sorry for getting back to you so late. Out of town. He I told him about a problem I was having with cold starts in the morning or at the end of the day. The truck would act like it was flouding out if it were a carb job some times diing after start up and then clear up after a few seconds of run time. I live in the mountains of Idaho in a very cold climate so I thought what the heck it can't be that hard of a fix I have yet to fix it but will be soon.
Hi I am wondering if you could tell me where the same sensors are on a 1999 Expedition engine. I had put one in my 97 F150 but I am unable to figure out just where to plug my connections for these sensors. They are not located in the same place as my original 4.6 that was in the truck.
