A/C issues on my 00f150
Well last summer i noticed my A/C wasnt all that cold anymore, it didnt really bother me until it got up to 80degrees one day and i couldnt stick my headout hte window far enough to cool down, it absolutely could not keep up, i went to get it checked out and they said the system is charged up 100% and the problem lies somewhere in the dash, problem is they wanted to charge 1100bucks to take it appart, not including parts to fix whatever was wrong.... they described it to me as the "device that lets the air in" is "stuck"
my question is.... is this common? is it an easy fix if i tear it appart someday? orrrrr just stick it out til i sell it this summer?

Same happened to my 1997, it was the evap core. They charged me exactly $1,000 to tear apart the dash and replace the part... it is in the "dead center" in the "VERY BACK and BOTTOM" of the dash. I was allowed to watch when they took it apart, and it took them 6 hours to get to the evap core, dropping the stearing column and all that jazz, it looked so horrible torn apart... anyways... they replaced it and it worked for about 7 months, then my compressor went, so i said to heck with it and i just open my windows now... its NOT worth the money especially if your going to sell it AND it you hit highs of 80's... im in the chicago area, and we get mid 90's all summer long... so... yeah... sorry for the rant.
