I am considering installing Gibson ss headers on my 5.4 2002 F250. Also using copper gaskets. Pros Cons?
Also wanted to note my Gallery Snake Pit has some new pix
Copper gaskets are for off road only. I thought it was b.s. too until I spent $40 on them and they leaked. That was SCCE copper gaskets. Stick with good old Felpro and get the stage 8 bolts with clips to keep them tight.
Don't bother with the headers. I got some Gibson headers for my 2002 5.4L and they didn't do squat! Trust me, save your money. Took them off, sold them... no difference with or without the headers....
I was under the understanding that cooper gaskets were pretty much ever lasting as long as you re-tighten them 3 times after installing??
I was not looking for any more hp with the headers (Not expected anyway) If I get some fine. I have a leak at the exhaust manifold so I just figured there not that expensive..

Hey DS02F250,
How come you have a rag over your front plate in one of your pix? Something I don't know on plate number theft on line?? How much did you pay for that Stull grill? I really like it.

I had em on my 1999 5.4 F-150 and i was pleased.
I did the whole exhaust at once so its hard to say how much benefit it was by itself.
Looking at the stock manifold its easy to see why the Gibson would flow alot better.
Can't remember the gaskets though.
And they were a complete pain to install.
i purchased some gibson SS headers for my 02 f250 v10 new on ebay shipped to me for $250 direct from gibson.. they have a blow out of there overstock on ebay. i would never have bought them but the deal was to good to pass up. i plan on installing them in the spring. i'm just looking for a little power and maybe a little better fuel milage.
Thanks guys for all the info. I have the headers on order along with some cooper gaskets, due in next week. Another question I put a dual cat back system on last year. Should I replace the
Y-pipe and the cat to a larger Y-pipe and freer flowing cat? When doing the headers? Any suggestions on what to use?
