Careful! You'll want lots of ventilation if you use muriatic. Also- it will rust anything in the garage severly! I wouldn't recommend it if you're garage is attached to the house, either. Find out if the fumes are bad for you. It does clean concrete like crazy , though.

A good scrub with a 24 in. floorbroom using Simple Green in warm water always did it for me. Scrape where needed with 3 in. wide drywall knife or equivalent. Then just rinse out well with hose water .

I am wanting to paint the floor with garage floor paint not epoxy. The garage is not attached to the house and I have good ventilation. I will be trying to remove the oil and grease.

If thats all you want to do then read the fallowing thread, than all you need is to sweep and vaccuum afterward and fallow the directions for the paint. if you were to go the epoxy route then use the acid only to give the floor some bite for the epoxy to adhere well. you still need plenty of ventalation for your own safety the fumes will burn your lugs permanently!
