hi all, when i went to leave the clinic today my truck died after i drove it about 2 feet. It started up fine, but when I pushed the accelerator it died.
So I put it in park, & it fired right up, I then left w/out the slighest problem.
Since then I have put apprx 430 miles on it after i left the clinic this morning.
What would cause this, cam position sensor? Lemme know, thanks.
I have a 2000 f350 and had a similar problem. Truck would die and then restart. However the problem got progressively worse and more often. It was the cam positioning sensor. It is located in the front of the block and really not too bad to change. I think it ran me about $120.00. Good kuck.
Had the same problem with my 96 PSD. It was the cam sensor. Had the dealer replace it cost 360.00 After reading on this site will change my own next time for around 125.00 Although I hope there isn't a next time. Good Luck
man thats kind of pricey, aint it? Well I've put 48 miles on it again today, after 430
yesterday. Still no problems, Should I let it go & not worry until it gets me stranded
lol?
Bought one for 50 bucks on eBay and threw it in the glove box becouse my truck hiccuped a few times in the last few months. Better to have and not need than to need and not have!

Hi JMH/ Think I talked to you on phone bout wk. ago. It sounds like the CPS to me, other people on this site could tell you how to change it yourself and save big bucks. If your not comfortable with that, have the garage do it, this is one problem that won't go away.
