Doesn't the chart say 18 more horses or am I missing something?

If the numbers are true then it's cheap. HP and TQ are not cheap in the aftermarket world.

I was working on my third beer. You're right. But at 2050 RPM where I run on the highway, the performance is not that good. I still don't see the benefit over the stock filter, especially at that price.

As pappy used to say " If something seems to good to be true. it probable is"
You are discounting this as marketing glitz when you aren't taking a close look at the numbers; you hear 114 ft-lbs and 18 horsepower and automatically discount the claims as false. It must be taken into account where the power is made- look at the curves. These are MAX gain numbers, not peak gain numbers. The peak numbers are much lower, and their graphs accurately display this.

Congrats on your 2000th post PSD!

I'm assuming that both curves were taken on the same dyno and corrected for standard conditions but it would be interesting to have that confirmed.

It would also be interesting to see someone - in a dyno facility with clean air - do a set of dyno runs with a fresh stock air filter to basesline and then another set of runs with no filter at all.

It would be interesting to see how the performance under 2000 RPM compares with the AFE.

My friend put one on his 05 and likes the "seat o' the pants" feel. Seems that it goes in a lot easier than the one I have also.

Matt, the real test is whether or not it provides same as or better filtration and still gives you added performance. I would also like to see dyno numbers at the rear wheels for a new stock filter and a new aFe Stage 2.

The marketeers are always trying to part us from our money and will say anything to accomplish that goal.
