They are in the process of building a Ranger into an 'Off-road' machine.
They acquired a wrecked Ranger regular cab, and so-far, have cut off the front-end, welded SC extensions onto the body, stripped the interior and welded up a rollcage.
Last thing they did on Saturday was to start measuring the wheelbase to build the lower frame.
Pretty good show.

i've seen the show it's kinda of stupid if you ask me, if you saw what they started out with, it was just a cab and frame, that was it and they were all excited that they got it for 500 from a junck yard, then they cut off all the frame...they got ripped off. plus which they have two trucks that their working on and the other a "jeep" with all new parts including the chasis and body, and they started build up without having enough parts to build it. plus the reason they added the extened side is so they can make it act like a ram air system, which doesn't work when a slow speeds like the rock crawling the truck is meant forthe only bright spot to that show is the clips where they actually show offroading.
I watch it and wouldnt budge from the tube when they brought the ranger in. They have a long build ahead due to the fact that thing is 2wd. I cant wait to see when the put that stroker in between the fenders of that ranger
I saw it. It really bothered me to watch the chick use improper welding techniques; specifically where she was laying down the bead by overlapping tack welds which is NOT the way you build a cage. Sloppy. I guess the other host was a shop teacher and wasn't really happy about this either. Theres another tech board I frequent and he came on seeking input for the show. I thought it was pretty cool of him to do so.
i've seen his posts over there too. he seems for real and wants to have a good off road show not like the other shows that are 1/2 hour bolt on junk commercials.
i do respect the fact that he (Ian) kept refering to that big lifted dodge with air bag suspension as a street truck. and never tried to pass it off as anything but a show truck.
Yeah, what really gets me going is I put in to be a host on that show. I met all the quals, I am a certified and experienced welder, I am an ASE certified technician, and I am opening a 4x4 shop this year. Their loss.
