Took my ranger behind fort hood, tx on thanksgiving. Everyone had headed home and I needed to get done, so I did 130 in a 30, since the motorpools were empty.
Lost all driving privledges on post.
Fine was like 80 bucks.
The neighbors brother just got one on his bike (involves a court apperance). He was clocked at 77 in a 55 zone. Catch is he was on his front wheel only (endo).
$400.00 for 81 in a 70 ... forgot ticket and then lost slip for 9 months... would have been $500 if I'd waited another week(would have been a heck of a lot cheaper if I'd remembered to pay that ticket)
have a brother in law that was stopped for 36 in a 35. The cop asked him "whats the hurry " !!! This isn't an isolated incident in that town (Refugio, Tx. on Hiway 77 between Corpus Christi and Victoria,Tx) I don't know how much his fine was.
I was racing a dodge on friday when we both got pulled over, The dodge split when the cop stopped behind me and I was the only one to get a ticket. 86 in a 55. would have been like $380 bucks and 6 points, but he wrote it up as some thing else and it was only $200 and 4 points.
I've gotten two tickets at the same speed - 143 kph on the highway (100kph limit). One was $182 and the other was $212.
I also have a 90 kph in a 70 kph zone and a 85 kph in a 60 kph zone in the city. These were just over $110. These were caught with laser.
Then I have two more on the highway going 120 and 122 kph. These were just over $130.
I also managed to get one on the gravel road. Here in Saskatchewan the cops like to patrol the gravel roads and I was picked up doing 148 kph when they are supposed to be 80 kph zones. I managed to talk him down to 120 kph because I was broke down in the field with my combine and was in a rush. He understood a little, else it might have been a dangerous driving ticket.
And these have all happened in the last two years. SGI (our insurance company up here) doesn't like my record, maybe thats why I've been in the office twice to have an interview about my abstract. But they did change the rules up here and now speeding tickets don't count against your liscence. The fines have just gone up drastically.
Only $53 for going 15 mph over the speed limit? Man, that trooper was being exceedingly nice to you. In some states, that is enough to pull you and your car off the road.
My brother - in - law got a ticket for doing 80 in a 65 in a south east state and it cost $300+ AND he had to go back to court for it from NH. I think it was probably pretty expensive all told. It was either SC or Maryland I think.
Ive never had a ticket. I just turned 17 last December. I pay $40 a month thru my parents. I pride myself in my good driving. I usually drive a hair under the speed limit to avoid a ticket from a cop that is bent out of shape for not getting his daily supply of donuts. I am careful becasue if I get a ticket I wont be able to afford insurace. I know that most kids my age like to race there cars and whatont but I drive my parents truck carefully because it is not mine. Soon my 66 will be roadworthy and I will be able to drive it daily to town. Anyway if you want to race or whatever go too a track its not worth the ticket.

I got pulled over for having expired plates. Expired, out of state plates. CHP makes a big deal out of registering your vehicle when you move to CA. The cop took my license (which was suspended at the time) and my expired registration. I had no insurance at the time (stupid, I know, I'm all legal now) and told him I'd taken the card out of my truck to get an insurance quote for registering my truck here and forgot to put it back in the glovebox.
Then he asks me how long I've lived here. I lied and told him a week and a half. You're supposed to register your vehicle within 20 days, or it's a big fine. He didn't believe me, and I just happened to have a receipt for a bedroom set on my visor that I'd bought four days ago. I showed it to him, and he believed me. He lectured me, gave my license back, and sent me on my way.
So that's how I got pulled over with an expired, out of state registration, a suspended license, no insurance and walked away with no tickets, not even a written warning.
Knock on wood I never got a speeding ticket I have a girl friend who got a speeding ticket for $2000. She was doing 110 mph in a 35 mph construction zone which doubles in fines. They inpounded her car and threw her in jail because she was drinking.
