diff swap/or ????
i have an 1967 ford f-250 with a 1 ton rear, looking to change it to a limited slip/ or change the gears in existing housing. but i still want to keep the axle shafts, since i still want to keep the 8 lug pattern

There are tons of options for the D60 full float, but it is a really heavy axle. Go to Randy's Ring and Pinion or Drivetrain Direct to see your options. The cut-off point for this axle is 4.10, so 4.10 and higher (numerically lower) uses one carrier, while anything lower than 4.10 (numerically higher) uses a different carrier.
