does anyone have a picture of the spout connector on a 1986 f-150 4x4 with 302 ?
or a really good description of it and maybe what it conects too so i can find the coreect thing to disconnect it to time this vehicle correctly.
i thought i disconnected the thing i thought was the spout connector , then timed it , and then checked it before and after the connection and it was the same , i tohught it was supposed ot chenge after it was cinnected back up , so either i disconnected the wrong thing or its bad , if they go bad .
What is a spout connector? When you are going to set the timing you would disconnect and plug the vacuum advance on the distributor, is that what you mean? That is if your year model is equipped with a vacuum advance.
It should be pretty easy to find. if you follow the wires coming out of the distributor it will be the connector that is hanging off the wire loom. I have seen pictures of one (Haynes manual) that looks somewhat like an inline fuse holder but is black. the one on my truck (89 f250 efi) is a little black square that is hanging out of the wire loom about 5 inches from where the wires hook to the distributor.
