Anyone changed a radiator support?? Is it
all bolt on?? Body mount is gone, sagging
soo much the fan shroud is starting to hit
the fan. Scary sound when I first heard it.
Any tips from anyone that has done it would
be great.
It is all bolt on, no welding required to replace the support. Get your bumper off, take the radiator out, pull the grille, and start unbolting! You can just pull the headlight wires and turn signal wires back through the support and unbolt the ground wires for the lights. You don't have to pull the fenders or inner fenderwells out to replace the support. You may want to support the hood (I tie a rope through the holes under the hood in the front and tie it to the back bumper) to keep your fenders from trying to push out once you seperate the fenders from the support. You may also want to take note of the placement of any body shims anywhere during the disassembly process. I'd plan on getting the two rubber mounts that go under the support as well, seems like once the support is rotted out they are bad as well.
Thanks for the advice, will get out the rope.
I am going to try to do it w/out breaking apart
the a/c fittings (which still works!!). It looks
like I can but I'll find out.
Did you have to do the mounts under the cab also?
Right now I got a hockey puck stuck in there. It did
not come thru the floor yet but not sure what I will do.
Thanks again
