I have the viper 791xv in both my vehicles 2000 Grand prix GTP and my 2002 F250 psd.I wouldnt trade them for anything i have the motion sensors on them so if anyone comes around it,it gives a warning then if they keeping standing there it will go off.I also put a Aftermarket siren on its alot louder. The nice thing about the motion sensor is in the summer you can leave your windows down and not worry about. It also has the shock sensor and all you have to do is smack the car with your hand and your setting it off.So if someone even tried to jimmy the locks or the handles they are setting off the alarm.
For those of you with a Two-way Page system... are you happy with what you got and what model do you have. What have you noticed with the units... good or bad.
I work in a building behind a desk and my truck is usually parked about 100 yards away (direct shot) but with the walls of the building and all, it still works from my seat. Plus this has a built in thermostat that will automatically start and stop your truck if you want it set at a desired temperature. I don't have this feature enabled but it's just another cool gadget. Alarm works great, funtionality is easy to use and best of all, inexpensive! Good luck!
Well, I found the relay the controls the fuel system under the hood (in the fuse/relay box) and marked it with white paint. Then, whenever I am parked in an area that I have any concerns about (like when I travel and stay in motels) I just pull the relay and take it with me. They may break into my truck but they sure as hell ain't going to drive it anywhere without fuel!
Well I made the arraingments today to have a Clifford Matrix RSX 3.5. It is the same as the Viper 791. I got it for $399 installed. I figured that after over $4000 in damage and $5000 - $6000 in lost content this is a small price to pay. Unfortunately I lost my back-up (Glock) with the truck. Next time I will park in the handycapped spot so that I can see my truck from the window.
No alarm. No locking lug nuts. No nothing. I keep valuables out of sight, lock the truck at all times, and hope for the best.
Basically, if someone wants to steal it, they're gonna steal it. Alarms and all that just slow them down 5-10 seconds. GPS's can be disabled as fast as yanking a stereo out. And LoJack merely recovers the shell of a truck... the insides are all missing by the time the police bother themselves with looking for your truck! Been there, been through that (the thieves even took the darn shifter ****!)
