I most definately hope they bring it to market. It'd be nice to have a larger displacement engine to go bridge the gap in the F-series engine line-up. So there isn't as much of a gap between the 5.4L than the 6.8L Triton.
Agreed, that is one heck of a jump...There needs to be a new base engine in the 3/4 ton trucks, the 5.4 is ok, but it could use a little bit more oomph...Maybe a nice V9 or something, lol...

naww....those V9's are troublesome....I'd like to see the return of the V7
And I will be lining up for a special import...
I don't think it will happen, but we can dream can't we???
As for what the numbers (hypothetically) could be.
Our 4V 5.4's make an advertised 389hp, and 385lb ft.
However, I know that they make closer to 410hp and 395lb ft.
So in a truck tune (i.e. less power, more low rpm torque) I would expect 450hp and 460lb ft of torque... or so...
i dont blame Ford for not looking at big motors for small sales thats what the after market people are for anyway. all i know is big power is nothing unless your pulling trailers or racing on the 1/4 mile. My 5.4 is good enough for me By the way my & I just picked up a brand new Mustang GT 4.6 Looks damn Good We know have 2 Fords Mustang & 04 F150 Im FORD proud !!!!
Speaking of small sales .... that "rich man's car" ( GT ) ... probably took a bunch of funding away from the Hurricane plans.
Now... in my own humble opinion... Ford is goofing big time if they don't start offering horsepower and tranny options in all of their rigs, car and truck.
That V10 ... hmmm ... big bucks, but man, can you imagine the horespower and torque? It sure is fun to dream.
