I posted a concern about the throwout bearing in my '87 f250 w/302 4-speed manual. It made an annoying wizzing noise while driving, or sitting in neutral w/the clutch out. I had the clutch replaced and it it still wizzing. Do these manual transmissions have a history of noisy bearings? And what tranny fluid do most of you use,gear oil or ATF. My '90 ranger w/5-speed, performed best w/ATF.

Don't quote me but I beleive the four speeds use gear oil and the five speeds use ATF. You might want to take it back to where ever you had the Clutch done and ask them if they no why it is doing it. If you put the clutch in yourself, did you put grease on the throw-out bearing, replace the throw out bearing or check the fork that moves the throwout bearing for wear. Also are you sure the tranny level is toped off?
