hypertech installed on my v10

Last night i programmed my computer with a hypertech power programmer and i really noticed a difference. its like the truck was before i put the 35's on it. just to let you know the hypertech for the 2000-2004 v10 does have the abilitly to adjust the tire size, but only up to 34.00". i have read in quite a few post that a few of you ford truck people werent sure if it did. my question is when i started the programming it read a DTC of p 1000. does anyone have the trouble codes so i can know what i reset. thanks

The P1000 means that driving-cycle data is incomplete. It's a not a failure, it usually happens after you disconnect the battery or reset DTC's. All the data from stuff monitored by the OBD2 is gone (cleared) so it doesn't have anything to look at. It'll clear itself once you start driving again. I don't remember how many driving cylcles it takes, maybe 3. The reason I suspect that you can reset your tire size is that you have a 2000. In 2002, Ford locked out that function, so I hear, because of fleet-user mileage fraud. I couldn't reset it in my 2002 or my 2003 1/2, I had to pay Ford 93 bones to do it.

When using the programmer, at which point in the tuning does it allow you to adjust for tire size?

Right after the transmission rpm shift point adjustment. It allows for tire height adjustments to be made in 1/4 in. increments up to 34". (For those with the 5.4L sorry this function does not apply.)

how much $, did you get the Hypertech for? I've got a 2004 V-10 and I'm looking.
Does the programmer have more features than the Superchip?

i paid a total of $325 for it. it seems to work really well. i did some research after i bought it (i know probably should have done it first) and i looks like everyone would prefer the superchip programer . i went with the hypertech because i had one for my z28 and it really made the thing come to life and i didnt have any problems with it. i think the superchip programmer is more expensive.
