Need info on E7TE heads

so far everything I have heard sounds like these heads would be a good upgrade to my stock 5.0 heads, at a reasonable cost.

what i have so far, is that these heads can be found on 87 and later 5.0 and 5.8 engines except on crown vic/marquis.

they are supposed to flow better through the port and chamber than my stock heads and would give me great improvements with mild porting.

what I want now, is any tech. info on the heads. Valve sizes, chamber sizes, comp ratio, and specific vehicles that they are on if the above info is incorrect.

I will be going to a wrecking yard to try and find these, and the specific vehicle that they are on would help a lot.

Depending on what year truck you have--You probably already have E7TE heads. They were used on truck 302's from 87 on I believe.

They were also used on 1986 or 87 up 5.0 HO's in Mustangs, and Lincoln LSC's.

Now I am finding out that these are a common head.

Does anyone have any experience with doing work to these`heads? Are they worth spending any money on?

What did GT40 cast heads come on? Do they need work done to them? And how do they compare to the E7TE's?

I want to try and save some money over buying aftermarket heads, but so far all I know for sure is that some heads are better than some other heads, but not weather they need work or not, and not how anything compares to anything else.

I have never run any heads other than what was on the engine. Now I want to spend a little money and get something better, but the only info I have got so far is that I can get better heads and there are different types of better heads.

If anyone can give me some info about how a type of head will perform, and the work and money involved that would be great.

Thats why I said 86 or 87. I couldn't remember if it was 86 or not because the Mustang recieved multiport fuel injection for 1986 and I thought it might have gotten the E7 heads too.
