Re-attack question on Wheel Studs

I have read several forums about the compatibility between Ford Wheels from newer '01 to older '9x F150's. 14mm to 12mm. I am currently doing the same thing, purchased '03 FX4 wheel to put on my '97 4x4 Lariat. IS THIS GOING TO WORK AND BE SAFE. I have never seen wheels that fit tight on the wheel studs regardless if they are hub centric or not. All of Ford F150 is hub centric. My only concern is the potential extra 2mm of space in the hole, with the torque when stopping and starting. And the fact that flat washer type lugs are needed.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

All the posts I have read have an advocate for both sides. I have polled tire shops and the local dealer. The local dealer said not to do it, however they have given be bogus information in the past. Any and all comments welcome.<o></o>

Thanks<o></o>

Spoke with a service advisor at 3 different Ford service departments here in San Antonio and all of them agreed that it is OK to use new wheels on the 12mm wheel stud. The only thing that added was to ensure the use of the proper lug nut (flat front washer style), which was a no brainer. I will go ahead and put them on.

However if anyone has any comments I am open to hear them.
