I really want to ride my sled right now and I am wondering what the snow conditions are right now in upper michigan or any other area close to minnesota. Right now here in minnesota it is not good.
How far can you drive to find some ? I just got my newspaper from the Michigan UP. The paper comes from L'anse....It says that Herman has 10-12 inches on the ground. When my wife and I were up there in april, Herman had just a few patches on the ground, but deeper in the woods (Huron Mountrains ), like east and north of Summit- our northern retreat had 4-5 feet of snow. In April yet. If you need directions to my place, just say so. DF
people are sledding around manitoba as i type this. there is still grass petruding from the snow that barely covers 4" tall grass. not much snow here. and the rivers are still not frozen. been a nice and mild winter
Maybe you need to come to the Texas panhandle. We've been playing (hunting) in the snow for about a week. It'll be gone by monday though if it keeps getting so warm. We've been seeing mid 30s here, but had a white Christmas.
Now thats very depressing, Texas with more snow than here. So far it looks like upper michigan and north dakota are looking to be good places to go for me. I really dread the idea of going any futher than that. Sure my truck will make it, but my friend's truck might not. Ha ha ha ha, he has a 99 2500 Dodge. (There I go again poking fun at dodge)

My personal opinion, a mild winter is not a nice one. I like a good, cold, snowy winter. One that actually seems like winter.
Apparently someone (moderator?) did'nt like the word I used in my earlier post. Oh well, no problem on this end. However, the correct spelling of the word you used to replace it is "Hades".
The conditions were good in the UP(I live in Houghton). My neighbors have gone snow mobiling every day this week. But today we got a very little bit of rain and it has warmed up so the snow is starting to melt.:-(
