I will admit, I am very new to the deisel, and trying to do any upgrades to it. Can nyone tell me what I am looking for in a chip, and what your preferences are? Also how doas a cip work, and are they hard to install? Thanks for any help.

Now the way I am reading this post of yours, you make it sound like there is only one chip out there LOL...Don't get me wrong here dude, I am laughing with you here. You could first start by looking on the sponsors of this site listed. More than a few here, then if you really want to be throwed on the floor and stomped on do a search on Yahoo or something for "Performance chips"
That will get her done dude LOL...Lots of killer reading on this site about each and probably every chip out there too.
I currently have the six position flip chip in my 95 and love it. I would rather think you would be wise to work more than the chip on your truck or do other mods first to be able to take full advantage of the chip you get. Guages are a must and a to die for if you ask me. Then the exhaust and intake systems...Yopur going to love this site for any and all the help on choosing these too.

Depends on what you want to do with the truck, haul a trailer or regular big loads, or just build a hot rod. I recommend going to the Pro's on this one, I chose the guys who have been doing it the longest - Banks! It's definately right to do at least the downpipe along with any chip change. If you go single stage (about 40+ HP) you don't need to guage your exhaust, but if any more juice is added you'll need a pyrometer for exhaust temp. Call the guys at Banks and tell them what you want to do with the truck and they'll fix you up!
